Mairi meets a friend in need, a friend indeed, on her way back to Lonelywood. At the urging of Speaker Mimsy she sets off to Kelvin's Cairn, a solitary mountain in the heart of Icewind Dale. But to get there she must pass through the lion's share of Ten Towns and each is dealing with The Rime in its own way.
